I knew April would get busy!

Looks like April is going to be busier than I originally thought. We found out yesterday that Nick is scheduled for more surgery on his little finger on April 20th. They are taking a tendon from his wrist and transplanting it to his little finger to try to get some movement. They'll also be breaking his finger again, shaving off some bone to straighten it,and pinning it together. Quite a lot of intensive rehab to follow - which means daily or weekly trips to Brisbane for therapy. It's the last chance to try to save his finger and has been a 2 year process so far. Lots of organising to do - and most of it is wait and see until we know the exact follow up plan. In the meantime - I've got to organise some time off work, get someone to watch Lauren after school on the surgery day, and help Nick prepare his school and his new work for his absence. Nick is OK with the whole thing - as long as I get him some "angel cream" in case the hospital doesn't have any. He is terrified of needles (took up to 5 people to hold him down to get a drip in once) - the anaesthetic cream helps him relax. I'm off to the Pharmacy today to see if I can buy it over the counter.
