We've just come back from 3 nights away camping and fishing. It was great to get away but I am so looking forward to collapsing into my bed (especially one that won't deflate during the night LOL). Too tired to write about it now but I'll answer a few of the prompts from the Sweet Shoppe Blog. I ended up missing the whole National Scrapbooking Day celebrations - a bit of bad planning, but the family time together was so worth it! Onto the questions..
Q1: If you could vacation anywhere in the world where would you go and why? Hmm - after just having 3 days away I'm still in vacation mode! I'd really love to go somewhere to have a white Christmas!! Somewhere far away from hot humid days, beaches, barbeques and salad lunches. Somewhere that I could wear bright red jumpers, furry jackets and drive around looking at all the lights before heading back for hot chocolate.
Q2: What cartoons do you absolutely detest & refuse to allow anyone to watch {be it child, spouse- haha, nieces/nephews.. etc just plain don’t want it viewed on your television)? South Park - I just can't stand the voices and the content of the bits I've seen I wouldn't let my kids watch. Of course my teenage boys have a totally different view!
Q3: You just woke up, you’re a mess, haven’t showered, there are dishes in the sink.. There’s a knock at the door, what do you do? I'll peek out to see who it is and then send one of the kids to open it! This has happened a few times and I've had to do a quick trip to the bedroom to get dressed and brush my hair before coming out to greet them.
Q4:When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thought that ran through your mind? I had a quick glance in the mirror in the public bathroom at the camping site this morning - and I was more than a little worse for wear after 3 nights in the great outdoors. I was thinking how old I looked ! The lovely part is, when I got back to the campsite and before I could say a word, DH told me how beautiful I looked... and he melted my heart again!
Q5. Tell me a story about your Dad.. Hmm so many stories to tell LOL My Dad is rather good at exaggeration, but it all became a bit too far fetched when he was talking about a rather large chicken he had seen, which by the end of the story became a metre high chicken! Every time someone mentions chicken now we laugh and ask if it is a metre tall!!
Q6: You open your drawer, find 1 pink polka dotted sock and 1 black sock with reindeer on it.. Do you wear them together and hope no one sees them or go without socks today & hope your feet don’t get sweaty? I would so wear these socks! I don't get to wear socks often at all, and even one with polka dots sound so much fun!
Q7: Are there any strange stains on your carpet, floor, walls, ceiling or couch? Do you know how they got there? Lots of stains on our old couches but I certainly know how they got there ... DS-15, DS-13 and DD-8. I thought it was bad when they were toddlers, but I think the stains get bigger as their hands grow larger!!
Q8: Are you neighbors annoying??? I wouldn't say our neighbours are annoying (apart from the teenage kid who visits next door and sits on their back steps so he can try to see me getting dressed in the morning!)Our neighbours are mostly very quiet but with the occasional really interesting moments LOL The ones on one side never come out of there house in the day time. I haven't actually set eyes on them for over a year now, but I can hear them sometimes. Which brings me to our neighbours on the other side - very quiet apart from their son who got into a spot of bother with the local police, and we were woken about 1am to find a police raid complete with about 8 police cars, dog squad and the works. It's been a lot quieter since he had to go away for a while! We actually live in a really quiet street and I don't really know what the neighbours look like. I wish we were back in a little county town where we knew everyone, and could catch up with the neighbours over the fence or join them for a get together sometimes.
Q9: Are you a phone person.. if I called you right now would you chat with me? lol Of course I'd chat with you! We'd probably spend half an hour laughing at each others accents though LOL. I had an online friend a few years ago from Boise and we called each other occasionally - we were in hysterics trying to work out what each of us were saying. I'm not so great phoning people I don't know, but I do a lot of counselling etc on the phone for work so I'm getting much better with the whole phone thing.
Q10: What colour popsicle would you like.. Orange, Purple, Red, Yellow, Green, Pink or Blue? Purplel, red or pink. My favourite colours and they are usually my favourite flavours too!
Cheers!
