Can anybody spare a hand or two?

They say things come in three's - but this time I'm hoping it's not true. Nick was scheduled for surgery on Friday to reconstruct his little finger that he broke last year. The hospital is in Brisbane which is an hour away, so it took a major scheduling task to organise how to get there, who would stay with him and what to do with the other two children. He needed me there for the medical/mothering side of things and Gary there to help him with self care - being a teenage boy with two arms out of action.

I was just finishing up work on Thursday, trying to get the urgent matters out of the way before leaving a little early so I could get the home front organised. And then I got a call from the school to say my son was in sick bay after injuring his finger. My first question was - "which son?" - Jordan!! So - I spent the rest of the day at the local hospital with him. Turn's out he had partially dislocated his finger and sprained it while playing football. So now I have two sons, both with their left hands out of action. BTW - Nick sailed through the surgery, we have a lot of rehab to do but the surgeon is hoping that he will regain some function over time.
